First solo show of the artist in Paris, this project is thought in resonance to Weapon, important personal exhibition that is devoted to Benoît Maire at the David Roberts Art Foundation in London, from the 15th of March until the 11th of May. Built on different mediums - from painting to collage, as well as sculpture, film and books - the work of Benoît Maire (born in 1978) can be apprehended overall as an attempt to give shape to singular and aesthetic systems. The artist manipulates concepts, artistic or litterary references in order to, in the end, question the affective value of a theory. His practice, which keeps re-structuring itself, finds its inspiration in a constant dialogue with other artists, philosophers and even fictional characters.
