"The film Exercice_Danse des bâtons, made in 2009, is the recoording of a spontaneaous performance, inspired by Oskar Schlemmer's Stäbetanz.
During a night in Rome, I found in the street some metallic sticks and decided to bring it back to the studio to really experiment what is dancing the "stick dance" by Schlemmer, of which we only know photographs.
I know these photographs and I am obsessed with it for a long time.
The issue is to lumber myself with metallic tubes, according to the photographs, and to perform a free dance only once.
I wanted to experiment this mythical dance, make it real, feel how this structure force and orientate the body."
